Students “attend” school in the same way that any other traditional student would, but with one major difference: all lessons are delivered online. Students are not required to travel to a traditional brick-and-mortar school. At the beginning of their lessons, they will simply log into the Royal Mount School website portal and begin their learning. The teachers deliver their lessons in real-time, using a virtual classroom that includes a whiteboard, a live video and audio feed of the teacher, and a chatbox. During the lesson, students can easily communicate with the teacher and each other using the chatbox and, if necessary, their microphone. Students use the Learning Management System to submit their homework (and view their graded work). Everything is done online.

Lessons are much more engaging and interactive than in traditional schools because they use voice, text, whiteboard, notes, recordings, presentations, and screen sharing. Students can be assigned tasks such as completing specific exercises, sharing their work, or demonstrating to the class. This gives every student the opportunity to communicate directly and privately with the teacher, ensuring that no one feels left out or behind.
