About Royal Mount School

Royal Mount School is a comprehensive interactive online primary, secondary, and sixth-form school. Students learn at their own computers while wearing a headset and microphone and interacting with their teachers and classmates. Expert teachers who are passionate about their subjects and dedicated to helping every student succeed teach classes live and online.

Royal Mount School offers everything traditional brick-and-mortar schools do and much more. Students can study from anywhere in the world while receiving expert instruction in the British curriculum, IGCSE, CBSE, and NIOS. Classes are taught in real time by real teachers (rather than boring CDs), and students can interact with them directly during and after class.

Students “attend” school in the same way that any other traditional student would, with one major exception: all classes are held online. Students are not required to travel to a traditional brick-and-mortar school. They will simply log into the Royal Mount School Website Portal during class and begin learning. The teachers teach in real time, using a virtual classroom that includes a whiteboard, the teacher’s live video and audio feed, and a chatbox. Students can easily communicate with the teacher and each other during class by using the chatbox and their microphone as needed. Students use the School Platform to submit their homework (and view their graded work). Everything is done online.

Classes are much more engaging and interactive than in traditional schools because they use voice, text, whiteboard, notes, recordings, presentations, and screen sharing. Students can be assigned tasks such as completing specific exercises, sharing their work, or demonstrating to the class. This gives every student the opportunity to communicate directly and privately with the teacher, ensuring that no one feels left out or behind.

Teachers have at least two years of classroom experience, and many have significantly more. They must also have a B.Ed, a Masters in a specific subject, a PGCE, or a teaching qualification equivalent in education.

Online education is classified as homeschooling in many countries (including the United Kingdom) and is a legal alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar schools.

Classes, Lessons and Tutorials

Yes. The classes are taught in real time by live human teachers!

Yes! All classes are real-time and live! The live classes are recorded, and students can access them for the subjects in which they are enrolled. This provides a significant advantage over traditional schools. For example, if a student is absent from class due to illness, he or she can catch up by viewing the recordings. Also, while doing homework, a student may realise there was a topic he or she didn’t fully understand. Or perhaps he/she wants to re-watch certain subjects during exam time to reinforce the learning. In all of these cases, attending Royal Mount School provides a significant advantage over traditional brick-and-mortar schools.

If a student is unable to attend a live class, his or her parent/guardian must notify the school via the Royal Mount School Parent Portal in order for the absence to be recorded as an Authorised Absence. If this is not done, the absence will be marked as unauthorised and will be recorded in the student’s file. In both cases, students are expected to watch the recorded live class and complete the assigned homework on time.

The main school hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in London time. Most students, however, will finish by 3:30 p.m., and Primary School students will usually finish by 1:00 p.m. (Actual times will vary depending on the timetable and the subjects chosen by the student.) It should be noted that students will not be studying all day. Students are only expected to log on and be present at their computers during class. They will have free periods to do their homework, revise, or simply relax!

Students are divided into class tutor groups of up to ten students. Lessons and Tutorials are the two types of classes in Secondary School. Lead teachers teach new subject matter to students in larger groups at the same time in Lessons. To consolidate understanding of the new subject matter, tutorials are conducted in smaller groups with class discussions, exercises, and so on.

Exercise is a wonderful tool for making us feel happier, more energized, and more optimistic. Every student will participate in P.E. once or twice a week.
